Welcome to OSD Food Services!
Our Mission is to "Serve Our Customers to Help Students Learn", and we realize that good nutrition is a critical part of our learning environment. We make every effort to serve quality meals and show students that we care. A hungry student has difficulty learning. Help your child do better in school by making sure they eat a healthy breakfast and lunch!
Pre-Paid Breakfast & Lunch for All Othello Students
Othello School District is proud to announce that our schools are participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which provides Pre-Paid breakfast and lunch to ALL Othello students (No cost for students). CEP is a federal program available to select schools as part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. All students in the Othello School District, regardless of family or household income, can receive school meals at no cost.
The Community Eligibility Provision allows schools located in low‐income areas to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students. All students are able to receive free and nutritious meals without any attached stigma, plus school paperwork and administrative costs are reduced.
Why is Othello School District requesting financial information? The information you provide by returning the Family Income Survey impacts the funding that each school receives from the state government. This survey is used to capture information and ensure the District receives all of the funding it is entitled to for these programs.
All students in Othello School District can begin receiving pre-paid breakfast and/or lunch at their school immediately. Your assistance in helping us maintain our current funding levels by completing the survey is greatly appreciated. The CEP Program is funded in Othello for the next four years. If you have any questions or concerns about how the program is funded or operated, please contact the OSD Fiscal Office at 509-488-2659 ext. 1031. If you have questions about meal times and eating at school, feel free to contact your child’s school office. More information on the federal CEP Program and its requirements can be found at www.fns.usda.gov/school-meals/community-eligibility-provision.
