Amy Suarez
Amy Suarez has lived in Othello her entire life and is an Othello High School Graduate. She grew up as a migrant student, making her K-12 education challenging and inspiring her to work hard. After receiving her certification in accounting from Trend Business College, she worked as an Executive Assistant for USDA/Farmer’s Home Administration for seven years. During her time there, she was able to help many low-income families from our community become first-time home buyers. She also assisted farmers with obtaining disaster relief loans. As part of a federal reorganization, the office closed down. Since relocating was not an option for her family, she went to work as a Personal/Investment Banker for Sterling Savings Bank. Amy’s career with the Othello School District began in 2008. For the past 13 years, Amy has been responsible for all duties required of the Fiscal Coordinator and became the Executive Director of Business Services in March 2021. Amy holds the “Certified School Business Specialist” in accounting through the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO).
