Student Assessment Data
-
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were no student assessments in the 2020-21 school year. Therefore, we have no data to report for last school year. You can click here to find past-year student assessment data from OSPI. Students will take their 2020-21 Smarter Balanced Assessments in October of 2021, and we expect to administer current-year assessments in the Spring of 2022.
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is a program of the Department of Education. It is a nationally representative assessment of what students in the United States know and can do in various subject areas like mathematics, reading, writing, and science. NAEP provides useful information about student progress at the state and national level.
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that the NAEP assessment be given in reading and mathematics to 4th and 8th grade students every two years. School districts that receive Title I federal funding must participate in these assessments.
If you wish to know more about NAEP and how Washington State compares to the rest of the nation, click here to access the information on the OSPI website.
