Amy Kohn, PrincipalAmy Kohn joined the Othello community in 2017 as the principal of Wahitis Elementary. She has more two decades of experience working in education. Prior to joining the Wahitis staff, Mrs. Kohn worked as a para, a substitute teacher, a middle school teacher, a literacy coach, and a literacy TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment). Mrs. Kohn received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Washington State University, a Masters in Teaching with an Emphasis on Designing and Providing Professional Development from Walden University, and Administrative Credentials from Western Governors University. Mrs. Kohn views a collaborative school environment as an essential component to student success. Her work will focus on the proud tradition of academics in Othello and build upon this history by providing a world-class education for our students. Mrs. Kohn is incredibly honored to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of students, parents, and education professionals. She has been married for 27 years and has one adult daughter, who is a middle school teacher. In her free time, Mrs. Kohn enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with her family.
Sandra Anderson, Assistant Principal
Sandy Anderson has been a member of the Othello community for the past ten years. Prior to her new role as an Assistant Principal at Wahitis Elementary, she worked as a 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade teacher at Scootney Springs Elementary, Hiawatha Elementary, and Wahitis Elementary. Sandy graduated from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sport Science and teaching endorsements in K-12 PE and 6-12 Health. She received a Masters Degree in Education from WSU-TC and her principal certification from Whitworth University. In the future, she would like to earn a doctorate degree. Sandy has been married for 16 years and has four children. She enjoys spending time with her family and reading.
