Christina Benjamin, Principal
Christina Benjamin started her journey in education in South Korea teaching English as a second language and was the lead native English-speaking instructor for the country’s first Online English Center. In 2014, Christina returned to her hometown of Colville, Washington, where she was a Kindergarten and 2nd grade teacher before becoming the district’s Director of Innovation and Information Services. Christina earned her Bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Jones International University, and her Principal credentials from Gonzaga University. Christina then continued her journey by coming to Othello and assuming the position of Assistant principal at Wahitis Elementary School during the 2022-2023 school year. Throughout her career, Christina has continued to keep educational equity at the forefront of each conversation. She is committed to promoting students to become lifelong learners and is excited to lead the Lutacaga Lion family!
Paul Oursland, Assistant Principal
Paul earned his bachelor's degree in science education through Central Washington University. He then earned his masters in science education through Concordia-University Portland, and his principal certificate through Eastern Washington University. Paul joined the Othello team as a science teacher at Othello High School before becoming the Othello district Director of STEM Education, where he discovered his appreciation for the elementary atmosphere. He is passionate about making a difference and having a positive impact on everyone he comes in contact with and helping everyone be proud to be Lutacaga Lion!
