Jessica Schenck, Planning Principal
Dear McFarland Families,
I am very excited to be McFarland Middle School’s incoming principal for the 2019-20 school year. As a former McFarland teacher and as a current McFarland parent myself, I care deeply about our school and ensuring our commitment to your children. One of the most important aspects of my job is to be an advocate for students by ensuring that they are learning and growing in a safe and welcoming environment. I am committed to working with our teachers to help all students grow academically, socially, and emotionally so that they are prepared for success in high school and beyond. Parents and families are also a key partner in the success of our students. This year we will be focused on creating open and regular lines of communication so you are informed about the great things your child is doing at McFarland.
My goal is that together we ensure that all students are given the opportunity to learn and grow into their interests and passions. This has been my philosophy since I began my career in education more than 16 years ago. Prior to coming to Othello in 2014, I worked in the Sunnyside School District. I earned a Masters in Teaching from Heritage University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Western Washington University. For the past two years I have served as the Othello School District’s director of STEAM education, and I am excited to bring my passion and expertise about classroom instruction and innovative ideas to McFarland.
If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions I encourage you to call me at 488-3326, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or leave a message on our McFarland Facebook page.
