Othello School District Seeks Applicants for Director District 2 School Board Vacancy

Othello, WA – March 25, 2025 – The Othello School District is now accepting applications to fill the current vacancy for the Director District 2 position on the School Board. This is an excellent opportunity for community members who are passionate about education and want to make a positive impact in the district.

The application period will remain open until filled. The School Board will review applications and conduct interviews during a special board meeting. Following the interviews, the Board will select the new board member.

To qualify for this position, applicants must reside within District 2 of the Othello School District. A map of Director Districts can be found through the link below, and an official map is also available on the district’s website. If you are unsure whether you reside in District 2 or need assistance identifying your district, please contact the Superintendent's office at 509-488-2659 ext 1003.

Interested candidates must submit the following materials:

• A letter of interest

• A resume

• Three references

Duties of Individual Board Members
Board members participate in actions taken by the board as a whole and are not responsible for administrative duties or actions. They are required to review meeting agendas and study materials in advance, and actively engage in discussions and decision-making during meetings. Board members must attend meetings regularly and notify the chair/president or superintendent if they are unable to attend. After four consecutive unexcused absences, the board may declare a director's position vacant.
