OSD/OEA Joint Communications Statement

Thursday, July 15

OEA and OSD continued collective bargaining negotiations on July 8th and 14th. The parties have been at the bargaining table for a total of 34.5 hours. While we have tentative agreements on a number of key items, the parties are currently continuing negotiations around salaries, benefits and working conditions. The parties are expected to reconvene at the table on July 22nd.

 

Thursday, July 1st

OEA and OSD continued collective bargaining negotiations on June 23, 28-30, July 1.  The parties were at the bargaining table for a total of 23 hours.  OEA and OSD have presented and discussed proposals around several articles and sections of the collective bargaining agreement.  We have reached tentative agreements on a number of items.  Parties are scheduled to meet July 7-8. 

 

Friday, June 18th

OEA and OSD initiated collective bargaining negotiations on Tuesday, June 15th for two hours.  Following agreement on a set of bargaining ground rules, OEA presented the Association’s proposals.To help minimize misinformation, miscommunication, and rumors, the parties agree to provide joint, written communications at least once per every two bargaining sessions to and for the benefit of: (1) members of the bargaining unit who are not at the table; (2) administrators and board members who are not at the table.  This ground rule shall not prevent the parties from engaging in their own communication as they deem appropriate.

On Friday, June 18th, the parties met for 3.5 hours. At this second session OSD presented proposals on the first half of the contract. The parties agreed to reconvene on June 21st to continue the second session of negotiations where the OSD will present their proposals as related to the second half of the contract.
