The OSD Board of Directors has granted approval to adopt new social studies curriculum materials for grades 7-12. Click here to read the recommendation from David Spencer (Director of 7-12 Social Studies)

The adopted curriculum includes:

• 7th Grade: Washington State History Text
• 8th Grade: American History Through Industrialism
• High School: Modern World History, Ways of the World, American History: Reconstruction to the Present, American History: A Narrative, 11th Edition United States Government, Global Issues, American Government and Politics, and a subscription to study.com

The last secondary level social studies adoption in Othello School District was about 10 years ago. The cost of these materials adoptions is about $342,063.

Materials were made available for parent and community review during conferences earlier this year.
