OPMA Changes Allow In-Person Board Meetings
Washington State has made changes to COVID social distancing guidance for miscellaneous venues. Effective immediately, meetings are allowed up to 25% of venue capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer (excluding staff). This guidance applies to all regions in Phase 2.
Since the East Region moved to Phase 2 on February 15, Othello School District’s Board of Directors will resume holding their meetings in person. Meetings in our boardroom will be live streamed via the Othello School District YouTube channel, and interpretation service will be available.
In order to meet the Phase 2 guidelines set by the Healthy Washington Roadmap to Recovery, the maximum capacity allowed will be 10 attendees. Attendees who wish to be physically present at the meeting will need to pre-register by contacting the Superintendent's Office at 509-488-2659 ext. 1003 or by emailing Vanessa Martinez at v.martinez@othelloschools.org by 4:30 PM on Monday night. Attendees will be required to arrive by 5:50 PM, have face mask coverings and seats will be set up for proper social distancing. Temperatures will be taken prior to entering the building.
