Our increased proficiency with using technology to provide education means we are able to make some changes to snow days in Othello. For the rest of this year, Othello School district will not cancel classes due to snow. Instead, if weather makes traveling to our schools unsafe, we will transition to online learning for those days. Teachers will contact families through their normal channels with information about when and how to join online class sessions.

By moving classes online for snow days we are able to continue to provide services without interruption, and we can avoid extending our school year with makeup days. When winter weather hits, we continuously monitor conditions as they develop. It is our goal to make a decision about transitioning to online learning for snow days by 5:00 a.m.
