Othello High School

Welcome to Othello High School!

At Othello High School, we are committed to creating a learning environment where every student feels known, supported, and inspired to achieve their best. Our mission is rooted in strong relationships, purposeful instruction, and high expectations that prepare our students for success in college, careers, and life.

We believe that every student can learn and meet high standards, and we work together—staff, families, and community—to make that possible. At OHS, no one gets left behind. We collaborate as a team, focus on what’s best for students, and provide clear expectations and meaningful learning experiences that build independence, confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset.

Our dedicated staff provides engaging instruction, relevant curriculum, and ongoing support to help students navigate challenges and celebrate successes. We strive to model positive behavior, maintain consistent structure, and inspire a passion for learning that students will carry with them long after graduation.

Our vision is simple: to inspire and support all students as lifelong learners who positively impact their futures and their community.

We are proud to welcome you to OHS—where we continue to build a positive, inclusive, and empowering educational experience for every student who walks through our doors.

Othello High School Vision Statement

OHS Inspires and supports all students to positively impact their futures as lifelong learners.

Othello High School Belief Statement

We believe that…

  • It's about RELATIONSHIPS, both with coworkers and with students.
  • Nobody gets to give up, opt out, or fail.
  • All of our students can meet standards.
  • Every decision comes down to “what’s best for kids?” not what’s convenient for adults.

We expect of ourselves and others (non-negotiables)…

  • We will collaborate. This is not optional. All instructional decisions will be discussed and planned as a team.
  • We will teach to standard, teach to mastery with quality, rigor, clarity, and purpose through common interim assessments and proficiency scales.
  • We will never be perfect, but our data cycle/learning days will help us strive to get better.
  • We will have bell to bell instruction and follow course blueprints.
  • We will be solution-oriented.
  • We will all enforce and model cell phone policy.

Why we do what we do…

  • Set high expectations to prepare students for the real world.
  • Prioritize student learning and growth.
  • Challenge students to foster development.
  • Actively engage students for success.
  • Maintain consistent structure for achievement.
  • Model appropriate behavior and lead by example.
  • Inspire a passion for learning by emphasizing its purpose.

We will continue to define and promote a positive learning environment here at OHS.
