Why Breakfast After the Bell Works
Breakfast is the fuel kids need to focus, learn, and succeed -- but many students skip it for reasons beyond their control. Early bus schedules, morning rushes, stigma, or simply not being hungry right away can all keep kids from eating before school.
Breakfast After the Bell (BAB) removes those barriers by making part of he school day -- served in classrooms or common areas after the morning bell. Research shows this simple change:
- Boosts participation in school breakfast programs
- Improves attendance and reduces tardiness
- Supports academic achievement and higher graduation rates
- Promotes healthy eating habits with balanced, USDA-approved meals
Hungry kids can't learn. BAB ensures every child -- no matter their background -- starts the day ready to thrive.
