We believe that good nutrition is an essential part of the learning environment. Hungry students have difficulty focusing, which is why we are committed to serving high-quality, nutritious meals every day -- and showing our students that we care.

Free Breakfast & Lunch for All Students

The Othello School District is approved to operate the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) through the 2025-2026 school year.

CEP allows schools in qualifying areas to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students, every day, with no applications required.

Benefits of CEP:

  • Free, nutritious meals for every student -- no stigma attached
  • Reduced school paperwork and administrative costs
  • Easier access to healthy food for families

Why We Still Ask for Financial Information

Even though meals are free, the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefits Application (CNEEB) is still very important. The information collected impacts the amount of funding schools receive from the state for programs that benefit students, such as:

  • Additional academic support
  • Technology access
  • School improvement programs

Your help in completing the application ensures OSD receives the funding it is entitled to.
