Executive Director of Business Services

A lifelong Othello resident and proud Othello High School graduate, Amy Suarez brings deep roots and decades of financial expertise to her role as Executive Director of Business Services.

Amy's passion for public service was shaped early in life as a migrant student navigating the challenges of K-12 education. Her perseverance and dedication led her to earn her certification in accounting from Trend Business College, launching a career centered on community impact and fiscal responsibility.

She began her professional journey as a Executive Assistant with the USDA/Farmers Home Administration, where she spent seven years helping local families achieve first-time homeownership and assisting area farmers in securing disaster relief loans. When the office closed due to federal reorganization, Amy remained committed to her community, continuing her financial work as a Personal and Investment Banker with Sterling Savings Bank.

Amy Joined the Othello School District in 2008. Over the years, she has served as Fiscal Coordinator and was appointed Executive Director of Business Services in 2021. In this role, she leads the district's business and finance operations with integrity, transparency, and a student-centered mindset.

She holds the Certified School Business Specialist designation in Accounting from the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO), demonstrating her commitment to excellence and professional standards in school finance.
