At Othello School District, we're committed to giving our youngest learned the best start possible. We offer supportive, engaging programs for children from birth through age five -- and their families -- to help every child thrive from the very beginning.
Family Engagement & Support
We believe parents are a child's first and most important teacher. That's why we host regular events to empower families with practical tools, guidance, and community connection.
What we offer:
- Dinner & Dialogue events with local early childhood experts
- Parent Nights focused on age-appropriate activities, routines, and school readiness strategies
3-5 Special Education Program
Our Special Education services support children aged 3 to 5 who qualify for early intervention. Each child's plan is personalized to their unique developmental needs.
Services may include:
- Speech and language therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Social-emotional skill building
- Adaptive learning techniques
- Early literacy and numeracy foundations
Huskie Pups Preschool
Located near McFarland Middle School, Huskies Pups is a free, half-day preschool program designed for Othello children who turn four before the start of the school year.
Program Highlights:
- Classes held four days a week
- Focus on social skills, motor development, and early academics
- Purposeful play, STEAM learning, and outdoor adventures
- Welcoming and inclusive environment
Location: 1335 E. Ash St. Othello, WA 99344
Half-day, 4 days a week.
No cost to Othello families.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) bridges the gap between preschool and kindergarten for children who are not yet age-eligible for kindergarten but are ready for a full-day school experience.
Available at:
- Scootney Springs Elementary
- Hiawatha Elementary
- Lutacaga Elementary
- Othello Preschool Campus
TK provides extended time for students to develop critical early learning skills and build confidence before entering kindergarten.
Full-day program.
State-funded.
