College & Career Readiness
Welcome to Othello's College & Career Readiness Program!
Our mission is to ensure every student graduates with a clear, confident plan for life after high school.
Starting as early as elementary school, we introduce students to the endless possibilities available to them -- from future careers to education pathways. As they grow, so do the opportunities. Our programs become more focused and personalized, helping students connect their interests and strengths to real-world options.
College & Career Readiness (CCR) empowers students to explore, plan, and take meaningful steps toward their future - whether that's college, trade school, military service, or directly entering the workforce. The journey starts now, and the possibilities are endless.
What makes Othello's CCR program unique?
The College & Career Readiness (CCR) program in Othello is driven by data showing that 30-33% of each OSD graduating class enters the workforce directly after high school -- often without specialized skills or a clear post-secondary plan.
Research consistently shows that the earlier students begin exploring career options and understanding the pathways to reach them, the more likely they are to succeed in their future endeavors.
In the past, the prevailing message to students was: "Everyone needs to go to college to be successful." Today, we recognize a broader, more inclusive truth: "Everyone needs post-secondary education or training -- but that can look different for every student."
Whether it's vocational-technical school, an art institute, the military, an apprenticeship, a religious experience, or a traditional college, our goal is to help students identify the path that best fits their strengths, passions, and aspirations.
