Becoming a Paraprofessional

Interested in Becoming a Paraprofessional?

We’re Here to Help You Get Started!

Paraprofessionals play an essential role in supporting students and educators across the Othello School District. If you're passionate about helping students learn and grow, becoming a para is a fantastic way to make a difference — and we’ll guide you through the process.

Requirements to Qualify as a Paraprofessional

Federal guidelines require paraprofessionals to meet one of the following:

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree, or

  • 48 semester credits OR 72 quarter credits from an accredited institution of higher education, or

  • A passing score on the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment (ParaPro Test)

If you need to take the assessment, OSD makes it easy.
