• Cell Phones & Phone Usage

    Office phones are available as needed. During class time, students will not be allowed to come to the office to make a phone call without teacher permission.  Cell phones are not permitted during the instructional day.  Student cell phones must be put away and not visible or they will be confiscated.  With respect to earbuds or headphones, they may not be used or visible whatsoever until the end of the instructional day. The only exceptions are for testing and school or teacher-approved educational purposes within the instructional day. Cell phones and earbuds/headphones will be categorized as a Level 1 infraction under "Electronic Devices".  

    Drinks at School

    With respect to student safety, drinks from home or off campus are prohibited.

    Student I.D. Cards

    Student I.D. cards are used to identify you as a McFarland student. You also use them to eat both breakfast and lunch and to check out library books and textbooks. Students are REQUIRED to carry their I.D. card to school EVERY DAY and have it on their person. There is no requirement to wear them.  It is also important to know and understand all students are REQUIRED to identify themselves to any district employee upon request. Failure to respectfully comply may lead to discipline. Lost cards will cost $5.00 to replace.

    P.E. Clothing

    A physical education uniform is mandatory for ALL physical education students.  You can purchase the uniforms through our building secretary in the main office.  Failure to purchase the uniform and wear the required uniform while in McFarland Middle School Physical Education will result in the student failing the class.

    User Fees

    Students taking the following courses/extra-curricular activities will need to purchase an A.S.B. card. The cost of the card is $30.

    • Band or Choir
    • Playing a Sport
    • Running for A.S.B. Office

    Books Fees

    All students will be issued books from their classes and allowed to check books out from the Library. Existing damage must be reported at checkout. Any damage  to any school books or books that are lost will result in fines to be paid before report cards and promotion certificates will be released.

    Special Programs/Activities

    Sports, Scholastic Recognition, Choir, ASB, Band, Second Step Character ED, Drill Team, Athletic Recognition, Mustang Madness, Chess Club, Hawaiian Day, Yearbook, Student of the Month.

    Sports

    Sports are open to all 7th and 8th grade students. Come join the fun, don't miss out! A.S.B. cards are required. 

    Lockers

    Each student will have a locker. Only school locks will be allowed. FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS, DO NOT TELL ANYONE YOUR COMBINATION OR LEAVE IT UNLOCKED! 

    Drugs, Alcohol, or Tobacco products are not allowed on school property. No gum allowed.

    Progress Reports are sent home twice a month on late start Mondays.
