Deborah Buduan, Principal
Deborah spent 15 years as a classroom teacher in a primary, multi-age classroom in the Edmonds School District where she began her transition into building leadership. She moved here with her husband and her son in 2016 to join Scootney Springs Elementary as their Assistant Principal. She and her family have since fallen in love with the town of Othello and the community. Deborah has a bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Western Washington University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. She is passionate about education and working to ensure that students receive the best educational experiences possible. Deborah is excited to transition into her new role as Scootney’s principal to help support teachers and students in the important work they do each day in the classroom.
Denise Mirich, Assistant Principal
Denise joins the Scootney staff with experiences specializing in mathematics and science. She is Nationally Board Certified and is dedicated to providing an effective education for all students. She earned her administrative credentials through Central Washington University and a master's degree in mathematics education from Boise State. Denise is also an acommplished basketball referee. She has worked extensively at the high school and collegiate level, including NCAA play-offs.
